ContractorTools allows you to export cost item data from job estimates, job templates and custom costbooks to a spreadsheet.

One reason you may want to do this is so you can edit the cost amounts in the spreadsheet and then re-import the spreadsheet. This gives you a quick and easy way to update the costs without having to edit them in ContractorTools by selecting each item in the job estimate, template, or custom costbook .

To export from a job

To export cost items from a job, select "Jobs" in the main menu, select the job you want to export from, select "Estimate", then "Document", then "Export".

To export from a job template

To export from a job template, select "Job Templates" in the main menu, select the job template, select "Estimate", then then "Document", then "Export".

To export from a custom costbook

To export from a custom costbook , select "Custom Costbooks" in the main menu, select the costbook, then select "Export".

Exported Data

When you export item cost data from a job, job template, or custom costbook, the exported data is formatted - arranged in columns - so that it can be imported back into a job, job template or custom costbook in ContractorTools. Please see this article for information on importing item cost data into ContractorTools.
